Dealing With Fear And Taking Action

OK so we talked about the fear. That fear can hold us back from taking the action. So what do we do to counteract that fear so that we go through. We have to do something which is courageous in order to go through despite the fear. So if you look at courage, courage itself, it’s not that courageous people don’t fear they have got the fear. But although that fear, we still take that action. So how do you become that courageous person who takes action despite the fear?

One way of looking at it is that if you think about the scale of 1 to 10, 10 being where you are so courageous. So what happens on one side, you have good courage. So if you are courage, skill goes up you are at 10. That means you just take that action on the other side of the scale. Let say what you have on the other side, this fear.

So again, if you use the same skill, what you have is you have got a scale of 1 to 10. So 10 is you are so fearful that you want to take action. So if both are 10, that means you won’t be able to take action. What you want to happen is to make sure that you lower the fear. And you create a gap so that the courage is higher than the fear and then you take action.

So there are certain things that you can actually do in order to take that action. One of the things is to gain this confidence. So you are courageous enough. You do it once and because you can see the results, you gain some confidence. And because of that confidence, you actually move forward.

Another way you can actually deal with the fear is to think about the reasons that you started the process that you’re working on in the first place. So what you can think about some compelling reasons why you have to get those results. So ask yourself this question. Why did you start what you’re working on in the first place?

So the objective might be that you have started some business, for example, because you want to achieve a certain level of income. Whatever your theory, should that really stop you from moving forward. Is it false evidence appearing real or is it true that you are going to not achieve the aim that you intended to achieve in the first place. So you have to look at that so the best way you can do is in advance of taking action. Have a plan, because these are going to be there when you feel like not taking that action.

So what do you need to do is to remind yourself why did I start in the first place? If other people can do it, why not me? What is it with me that is actually stopping me from achieving my goal? So when you start asking yourself these questions, you look at your competency level, that you’ve got the ability to achieve. You look at your track record on what you have done before, and that will give you some courage to move forward. And at the same time, what you are doing is as you become courageous, you are lowering the fear level. So so long as the courage level is higher than the fear, you are going to take that action.
